It's better as a shadow pokemon. I wouldn't purify that. The stats won't change. It's obviously much easier to purify a 3* shadow pokemon into a 4* purified, so a perfect shadow pokemon is much rarer than a purified, because it doesn't need to be purified to make it perfect stats... they already exist.
