Absorbing tadpoles has absolutely no repercussions. Only the astral tadpole, that the Emperor will give you at the beginning of Act 3 will change your appearance. All other tadpoles don't, even if you "eat" dozens of them. You can consume as many as you want and you still won't turn full Mindflayer.
